This is a comparative report based on research commissioned from the TUTB by the European Federation of Public Service Unions.
The research looked at how occupational health law was applied in the central civil service of four countries - Austria, Spain, France and the United Kingdom - through a comparative study of selected aspects of the Community Framework Directive.
It focused on three aspects in particular:
Worker representation;
The operation of preventive services;
Training.
The approach taken essentially combines interviews with union officials, with a literature review.
