Act 123/2007 of 25 August 2007 now authorises the government to reform the occupational health and safety legislation. It has until 25 May 2008 to prepare a single document which will carry over and simplify all the existing regulations in this area. Important measures have already come into effect, such as the obligation for enterprises to indicate the amounts devoted to safety in their replies to invitations to tender or the possibility for labour inspectors to suspend immediately the operations of an enterprise that does not comply with occupational health and safety legislation.
