ETUI-REHS launches survey on Belgian workers' representation in HSW
19/09/2007
The ETUI-REHS has commissioned the Université Libre de Bruxelles (Free University of Brussels) to conduct a large-scale survey on the operation of the Workplace Health and Safety Committees (WHSCs) which are Belgium’s bodies for giving workers a voice in health and safety at work (HSW). The initiative comes under the European EPSARE project.
WHSC reps are being asked to fill out an online questionnaire. The survey findings will be used to develop and validate a basic questionnaire which could then be used in other EU countries.
This is the first survey of its kind done on a national scale in Belgium. It has the backing of the three Belgian trade union confederations.
The survey findings will be reported to a conference on workers' representation in HSW to be held in Brussels on 11 and 12 February 2008.
