Musculo-skeletal disorders (MSD) represent the main cause of health problems at work in France, according to a study published by the French National Institute for Medical Surveillance (Institut National de veille sanitaire-INVS).
In 2003, MSD was responsible for nearly 34,000 cases of compensation by health insurance, amounting to 541 million euros.
According to the authors of the report, the increase in MSD disorders is related to the change in work structure such as call centres.
