Almost 7% of French employees are subject, for more than 20 hours a week, to noise which exceed 85 dB A or containing shocks or impulses, according to a study of the Ministry of Employment. Considered as “harmful”, this noise can seriously damage the auditive system. 25 % of  French employees are subject to less harmful noise.
The workers from the industry are the most affected, followed by those from the agricultural and building sectors.
