Monitoring the impacts of work on health
The WORKHEALTH project, funded in part by the European Commission, seeked to establish indicators for a work-related health monitoring in Europe from a public health perspective. WORKHEALTH began in 2002 and is carried out by a working group under the co-ordination of BKK Federal Association in Germany. Co-operating partners are social security institutions, ministries, research institutions and occupational health and safety institutions from 13 European countries.
The report "Indicators for work-related health monitoring" contains a synopsis of European and international work-related indicator systems already existent and a comprehensive compilation of the relevant indicators proposed in these systems, supplemented by the indicators developed in the WORKHEALTH project, as well as a theoretical framework for work-related health monitoring and a short list of indicators which are judged as most relevant for work-related health monitoring in Europe from a public health perspective.
