Sweden: compulsory medical check-up for workers exposed to vibrations

The Swedish work administration has just adopted legislation which to harmonise a compulsory medical check-up for workers and extend it to 110,000 workers exposed to vibrations. The law will be implemented in July 2005.

Regarding the risk assessment, the employer will have to determine if there is a need for conducting a medical check-up. If this is the case, the employer will have to bear the costs.
