Late 2004 saw renewed discussion among the Bulgarian trade unions and employers’ organisations  of health and safety regulations, in the light of requirements to comply with EU law in this area. The key issues include the current system of compensation for workers with hazardous working conditions, and incentives for employers to invest in improving health and safety.
