The pharmaceutical group Novartis has been condemned by a French Court in Nanterre. The group adopted a “guidance code” for its employees. For the Court, such a code is violating the privacy and therefore is creating a risk for the mental health of the workers. The code requires the employees to inform the company of any “governmental, political, voluntary or civic activity”. Such an activity should be submitted to an employer”s authorization.
