Belgium: steel workers in strike against a Court’s Judgment
On October 2002, a serious accident resulted in three dead workers and more than 30 wounded in the Ougrée Cockerill steel plant (Belgium). On 20 September 2004, a Court declared non guilty the company and the manager of the plant and condemned two workers. Spontaneous strikes have been carried out by the workers after the Judgment. They denounce the lack of safety measures in the company. Since October 2002, nine workers have been killed in different accidents. Source: RTBF
