The European Court of Justice rejects the action for anulment against the directive on working time for road transport workers
On March 2002, the European Union adopted a directive on working time for road transport workers. The scope of application of the directive is covering employees and self employed dirvers. Spain and Finland introduced legal actions for the anulment of the Directive. Their main argument was that the European Union had no legal basis for regulating the working time of self employed drivers. The European Court of Justice rejects such a view.
