Preventing MSD by talking about it is the aim of an awareness campaign on musculoskeletal disorders launched by French Labour Minister Xavier Bertrand on 9 April. The campaign is reaching its target public of companies, workers and healthcare professionals through television, the press and internet. It aims to spark the launch of prevention actions in all companies, regardless of size or sector. The minister estimates that seven million workdays were lost in 2007 due to MSD, at a cost of €710 million covered by employers' contributions.
